How pricing works

Platoonix is a discovery platform connecting loaders with hauliers for backhaul opportunities.

Included: smart matching

How it works

We only show loads whose pickup is within about 25 road miles of your search or route (the default “corridor”; see Terms). Among those, we rank like this:

  1. Best match first — vehicle type, capacity, trailer, and required equipment
  2. Then by distance — road miles to pickup; closer first within the same tier
  3. Fair — no paid priority in organic search; deterministic ordering

For loaders

  1. You set your budget for the load
  2. We charge a booking fee:
    • £5.00 minimum, or
    • 2% of load budget (whichever is greater)
  3. Payment held securely until delivery

Example 1 (small load)

Load budget: £100

Booking fee: £5 (2% = £2.00, minimum £5.00 applies)

Total you pay: £105.00

Example 2 (large load)

Load budget: £300

Booking fee: £6 (2% of £300)

Total you pay: £306.00

Why hybrid pricing?

Our booking fee covers:

  • Payment processing (Stripe fees ~2%)
  • Platform listing
  • Match notifications

The minimum £5.00 keeps smaller loads viable for us to run. On larger loads, 2% scales fairly.

For hauliers

  1. You see loads along your route
  2. You choose which loads to accept
  3. We charge 8% service fee

Example:

Load budget: £300

Service fee: £24.00 (8%)

You receive: £276.00

Per load — platform revenue (illustrative)

On a £300 load, collected fees might look like this:

Loader pays (booking fee): £6.00

Haulier pays (8%): £24.00

Platform total: £30.00

  • Stripe and payment costs are largely covered by the loader-side fee.
  • The haulier service fee supports matching, verification, support, and running the platform.
